Radcam HD Pro

The Radcam offers almost everything a tarmac rally driver wants: 1080p resolution, a colour screen, infra-red remote, and a lens angle between 120-140 degrees selected with a button. There’s also an internal microphone with option for external audio, through a standard 3.5mm jack — there’s even a lapel microphone included, along with a 4gb memory card.

Where it shines is power source, supplied with two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, and a 12v power adaptor which keeps the batteries topped up: this configuration ensures files will be written, even if power is cut, for example in a crash.

Both the recorder and the lens have tripod mounts, and the long cable is 2m, where most are 1.5m. All within a recorder unit that weighs 150grams, lighter than some one-piece units. Includes a case,

The Australian Rally Championship Chooses RadCam As Their New On Board Camera

The Australian Rally Championship (ARC) has made a new choice for its official on board camera systems for the 2011 season.

Top Gear Australia Tests POV.HD but Chooses RadCam HDPro On Board Video System

Freehand Productions, the makers of Top Gear Australia recently evaluated a number of High Definition on board video cameras for use in the new 2011 season, to be shown on the Nine Network.

These cameras are to be used for the shots inside the car. Two products were tested side by side and the RadCam HDPro came up trumps over the newly released Vio POV.HD.  The main critereia was overall video quality and ease of use and the RadCam excelled in both these areas.
